Divine Justice

"...And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous" 1st John 2:1.

You are in trouble with the Law - God's Law. All humanity is sinful in God's eyes, because we've all broken God's Laws. Romans 3:19 states: "Now we know that what things soever the law saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God."

The word "guilty" in Romans 3:19 means "having lost one's case in court." God's Law indicts (formally charges) mankind for having violated God's holy Law. God has declared all mankind "guilty," and has thus declared the death penalty for those found guilty, to suffer eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire (Romans 6:23; Revelation 21:8; 2nd Thessalonians 1:8-9).

Note: All Scriptures are quoted from the precious King James Bible.

Thankfully, Jesus offers to be our Advocate (Defense Attorney)... "And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous." The word "advocate" comes from the Greek word parakletos and means "an intercessor."

Hence, Jesus Christ is our defense attorney who intercedes for us in God's divine court. This is only made possible by the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ (1st Peter 1: 18, 19). Jesus (the Son of God) shed His physical blood for our sins at Calvary, to pay for our sins, thus enabling God the Father (the Prosecutor) to offer mankind a plea agreement.

All that God requires is that we come by way of the Lord Jesus Christ for our salvation (John 14:6). There is no other hope of salvation (Acts 4:10-12). If we do not accept the plea agreement, then we are summoned to stand trial at The Great White Throne of Judgment (Revelation 20:11-15). The lost will be judged according to their works (Revelation 20:13).

If any sinner, no matter how vile or wicked, repents of their sins by owning before God that they are as vile as He has declared them to be in his holy word, and that sinner turns by faith to the Lord Jesus Christ to be forgiven, believing that He is the Christ, the Son of God - then God will save that person. Christ's righteousness is then imputed (charged) to that person's account...

"But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputed righteousness without works" (Romans 4:5-6).

This is God's plea agreement for mankind. If we are willing to admit our guilt of sin, and believe on Jesus Christ for forgiveness, then God is willing to justify us on the bass of Christ's blood sacrifice and set us free from the curse of the Law. Amen!

Catholics and the Bible, 4

The Church of Rome in general does not endeavor to bring forward Scripture evidence to show that Scripture ought not to be read. That is in reality superinducing the habit of going to the Word of God as the standard of faith and practice. Experience is a more common argument.

Thus, the Council of Trent says, "Inasmuch as it is manifest from experience that if the Holy Bible translated into the vulgar tongue be indiscriminately allowed to every one, the temerity of men will cause more evil than good to arise from it, it is on this point referred to the judgment of the bishop or inquisitors, who may, by the advice of the priest or the confessor, permit the reading of the Bible translated into the vulgar tongue by catholic authors to those whose faith and piety they apprehend will be augmented and not injured by it."

Who ever heard of a parent granting permission to some of his children to eat a portion of daily food, and prohibiting others? The wise and affectionate father would see to it that the bread were wholesome, and taken at proper times, and in proper quantities—but never would it occur to him to benefit any of his family by an entire refusal of the staff of life.

If the body be living and healthy, it must have food; it can neither subsist upon the air nor on medicine. If the soul be lively and vigorous, it must have some of the heavenly manna; it cannot exist upon the vanities or purgatives which man supplies.

Experience tells us this—and experience tells us just as emphatically, that whenever the Bible has been taken away from any people, they have gradually sunk until the national strength has been exchanged for weakness—the national religion for impiety—and the national morality for crime the most revolting and extended.

The onward progress of civilization has removed the barriers which self-interest might have raised to the free introduction of bread, because it is a prime necessary of life—yet Rome, even to this very day, would lay upon the importation of the Bible, into every land and household, such a duty that it amounts to a virtual prohibition; and all this that the clergy may have a monopoly, and that all who wish to buy religious knowledge must purchase it from them, on terms which they themselves have settled.

If the Bible be worthy of the name of "holy," why are Romanists so much afraid of its circulation? Why do some of them, like the infidels, turn to passages in it which they aver cannot safely be read by the youth? Why do they keep the "Holy Bible" in a species of quarantine, as if they suspected that it carried a plague along with it?

Let them speak out honestly, and deny the Divine origin of the Bible, and then we will know how to reason with them; but we cannot conceive how they can honour the Scriptures with lofty names, and yet act toward it as they would toward one that was placed upon the list of the proscribed! Away with such a mockery of reverence!

If the Bible be the word of man or of Satan, let it be buried or burned—but if it be the Word of God, let it be raised as the lighthouse on the rock, by its well-reflected light speeding the travelers on ocean joyously through the darkest hours of night, past the fatal shore, to their destined harbour.

Catholics and the Bible, 3

The Church of Rome did not issue any formal prohibition of the free use of the Scriptures until the year 1229, when the Synod of Toulouse, alarmed by the spread of the Waldenses, thus expressed itself:

—"We prohibit, also, the permitting of the laity to have the books of the Old or New Testament, unless any one should wish, from a feeling of devotion, to have a Psalter or Breviary, for divine service, or the Hours of the Blessed Virgin. But we strictly forbid them to have the above-mentioned books in the vulgar tongue."

From that time until the Reformation, the Bible was, as much as the Church of Rome could make it, a sealed book. Of it, the clergy were partially, but the laity entirely, ignorant. Had the Saviour been alive, would he not have spoken to the pope, and all his minions, as he did of old, when he said, "Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye enter not in yourselves, and them that were entering in, ye hindered." (Luke 4:52.)

Romanists, however, are found citing Scripture itself, in support of the decrees of the Council of Trent, in regard to the circulation of the Scriptures. 2 Peter 3:15, 16, is a passage which they are fond of quoting:

"Even as our beloved brother Paul, also, according to the wisdom given unto him, hath written unto you; as also, in all his epistles speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable, wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction."

But what does this passage prove? Certainly not what some would infer from it. Does Peter forbid the general reading of the Bible, because in it are difficulties, and from it some may derive only ruin? By no means. Because there are hidden rocks in the ocean, it does not, therefore, follow that no mariner should ever trim his bark, or set his sail for any purpose of merchandise or war. No!

Even these rocks serve some end of which man is ignorant—and their presence only calls forth the greater watchfulness on the part of the voyagers, that so he may avoid the terrors of a watery grave.

Does not Peter immediately add, "Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ."

The more dangerous his path across the deep, the more skilful the pilot, and the more accurate the chart that will be required—and so the more numerous the shoals and quicksands in the world, the more the believer needs to consult his Bible, and follow the guiding eye of the Spirit of God.

There are mysterious depths in Scripture which no human intellect can fathom, and dizzy heights which no human power can scale—yet so much is revealed to all as is needful to salvation; and when eternity dawneth upon the soul of the redeemed, a light so strong shall be thrown upon the darkest subjects that God's people shall clearly see what now is dim and indistinct.

Catholics and the Bible, 2

The last written book in the Bible is the Gospel by John. It was written after the Revelation. It contains several of the discourses and prayers of Christ, which none of the other evangelists had given. Does the Messiah ever put an embargo upon the Word, or apprehend any evil consequences from its indiscriminate perusal? Never.

On the contrary, his command to one and all, is, "Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." (John 5:39.) Has popery ever uttered such a sentence as this? Hear the Saviour interceding for his disciples! More anxious that they should be holy than exalted or rich, he asks of his Father in heaven—"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy Word is truth." (John 17:17.)

Did ever a priest of Rome offer up for his people such a petition? If he did, and did so from the heart, why is there such a tenderness in giving the Scriptures to the people—who often times, because they have it not, are perishing through lack of saving knowledge. (Hosea 4:6.)

In the primitive ages of Christianity, when copies of the Scriptures were costly, because the art of printing was as yet unknown, as Chrysostom informs us, "the women and children frequently carried the Gospels, or parts of the New Testament, hung round their neck."

This they did not as an amulet—as a sort of charm, as if a few verses or chapters of Scripture could repel the assaults of every enemy—but that they, having God's Word constantly with them, might, when they pleased, take counsel of Him who is of infinite wisdom and understanding.

Nay, so much was the Bible prized, that some Christians, like Marcus when a youth, could repeat the whole of the Old and New Testaments; and of others, it is stated, that being themselves unable to read, they still, by hearing it read by their fellow-believers, had all the Bible committed to memory.

Were these Bible Christians, as we might call them, found swelling the ranks of heretics, schismatics, and other adversaries of the gospel? No! Their lives were spent in the fear of God—in the discharge of the duties of their respective callings; and when even a martyr's fate or apostasy were their only alternatives, they nobly preferred a cross with Christ, than a crown with Satan and the world.

Catholics and the Bible, 1

Taken out of the book entitled, Popery the Man of Sin, 1853

...But some say, the great and rich may be permitted to have the Bible, and read it, because they have had an education of a superior kind, and are, therefore, not so likely to adopt erroneous notions respecting it. But here we again refer to Moses.

No man could be more jealous than he of the glory of his God—none more indignant at any attempt to foist heresy or schism into the commonwealth over which he presided—yet it never entered into his mind, for a moment, that there would be any danger in committing the Bible to the common people.

So far from this, the injunction applicable to all, was—"These words thou shalt teach diligently unto thy children—and thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes—and thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates" (Deuteronomy 6:7,9).

Where does Moses speak the language of the Council of Trent? Where does he hint that the church, meaning by that the tribe of Levi, alone is to be the depository of the oracles of God? No where.

All were not only at liberty to possess the Scriptures, in the Hebrew language, without note of comment—but all who did not possess them, peruse them, and live according to them, were criminal in the sight of God.

As the sunshine irradiates the cot of the humblest, as much as the mansions of the highest of the sons and daughters of earth, so the light of God's word was to cheer the occupant of the cabin, as well as of the castle. The sun of heaven might direct the hand of the assassin as well as that of charity, but this did not cause his rays to be withdrawn.

The Word of God might be abused by Satan and his servants, but still was it "a lamp unto the feet" (Psalm 119:105) of every heavenward pilgrim—a spark of celestial fire, which the storms of earth might fiercely blow upon, but never have been able to extinguish.

Complacent Christians and the Bible

I am grieved when I hear other folks who claim to be Christians criticizing those of us who take a stand for what is right. A perfect example of this is our stand upon the King James Bible as God’s preserved Word.

Without a doubt, believers are far too complacent on the issue of the Bible. The same believers who can recognize a false religion (such as Jehovah's Witnesses) fail to recognize that Satan has infiltrated our churches with false bibles.Do you have any idea just how important the Bible is to God?

"I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name" (Psalm 138:2).

Did you read that? "…For thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name."

God’s Word is more important than God’s name!!!

"Therefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth." (Philippians 2:9,10).

There is NO NAME greater than the precious name of Jesus; but there is a greater Book—The Word of God. Why does God magnify His Word above His name? It's simply because God is only as good as His Word.

If God’s Word is unreliable, then God’s name is unreliable. If God’s name is unreliable, then God is unreliable. Do you see why the Bible is so important to God? God Almighty has many names, but none higher than "Jesus." Amen!

"Jesus" is the name which the Scriptures uplift, the name which brings salvation (Acts 4:10-12), the Name which is ABOVE EVERY other name. Yet, God magnifies His written Word higher than the name of Jesus! Folks, this stuff is real!

I’ve heard numerous believers’ say foolish things; such as, "We should all get along as Christians and not argue over trifle things like which version of the Bible to use." Though I understand their perspective, they are wrong. Yes, I agree that we should get along; but not at the expense of truth.

I would rather be divided over truth; then to be united by error! Did you get that? Let me say it again…I would rather be divided over truth; then to be united by error! The problem is that many of God’s children place their PRIORITIES on unity and fellowship, at the expense of truth.

This is the major problem with the Ecumenical Movement, which aims to unite different religious groups with little or no focus upon the truth of God's Word.

Read the following Scripture:

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…" (Hosea 4:6)

Notice that the following Scripture calls doctrinal confused adults, "children."

"That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; (Ephesians 4:14).

Are you childish in your thinking? Or are you grounded in God’s Word?

"As also in all his (Paul’s) epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction" (2nd Peter 3:16).

Many believers are unlearned and unstable; they have never grown up in the Lord. They are still little children in their spirituality (1st Corinthians 3:1). They think the whole King James matter is a big joke. Do you think Psalm 138:2 is a joke. If you do, you have problems.

God has elevated His Word above His name, that’s how important the Bible issue is to Him. If the Bible is so important to God that He is willing to magnify It above His holy name—then how dare anyone make light of the issue.

"Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices" (2nd Corinthians 2:11).

One of Satan’s devices is fake, imposter, counterfeit bibles—are you still ignorant?

"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren…" (1st Thessalonians 4:13).

It is a shame how many of God’s children have ignorantly fallen for the Devil’s counterfeit bibles. The god of this world (Satan) is the father of the New International Version (NIV), as well as ALL other modern translations.

The old 1611 King James Bible has stood the test of time. We don’t need another Bible in this country—We need revival! I think the following Scripture tells us why Zondervan and other ungodly people have corrupted the word of God:

"Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter" (Isaiah 56:11).

If you love the Lord friend—trash your NIV, ASV, NKJV, ESV, et cetera . . . and go get yourself a real Bible, the King James Bible!

Cutting Apart the Bible

by David J. Stewart

"Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him. And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.

And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house. And this woman's child died in the night; because she overlaid it.

And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom. And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear.

And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king. Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living.

And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king. And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other. Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it.

But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it. Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof. And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment." —1st King 3:16-28.

You've just read a very interesting account in the Old Testament concerning two mothers, who both claimed that a particular child was theirs. Obviously one was lying. King Solomon was presented with the dilemma.

Solomon ordered the child cut apart into two equal pieces, to give each mother half of the baby. The real mother cried out, "STOP! Let her have the baby, just don't harm him." The other woman said, "Yes, cut it apart, destroy it!" This revealed the truth concerning who the real mother was.

The same thing is happening in the world today concerning the inspired Word of God. The liberal Bible-corrupting crowd says, "Cut the Bible into pieces, rip it apart, change it, modernize it, diminish it, alter it, destroy it!" But born-again believers who love the Word of God cry out, "STOP! Please don't cut the Bible into pieces, leave God's Word alone, don't corrupt the Word of Truth, don't change a thing!"

The Simple Gospel, 2

by David J. Stewart

The way to witness to ANYONE is to simply present the plain truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to them. If a person doesn't want to be saved after having the simple Gospel, then they don't want to be saved.

There's no wisdom of words to convince the skeptic of the truth—the Gospel is what it is. If a man will not obey the simple Gospel, then he will not listen to the wisdom of words... "lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect" (1st Corinthians 1:17).

I sometimes forget this Biblical principle and find myself arguing religion with people. To date, I have never known a religious person to come to Christ as a result of debating beliefs. But I have seen some religious people come to Christ right away when they heard the plain Gospel.

A person who wants to be saved WILL trust Christ immediately, you do not need to argue anything with them. A person who wants to DEBATE religion has already rejected Christ in their heart and is now defending their unbelief. Even if you prove them dead wrong with the Scriptures, they will still hold onto their unbelief (Mark 7:6-9; Luke 16:31).

There are people all over the world who want to argue religion. We do NOT need to debate with them; but rather, just keep giving them the simple Gospel of Jesus Christ. The POWER of God which brings salvation is the GOSPEL itself, and not our cleverly worded arguments.

There are billions of people in this world who have never heard the Gospel, many of whom would happily trust Christ; but we are too busy arguing religion with conceited fools. Oftentimes we erroneously think that if we could just word our presentation a little differently that perhaps we might be able to win a hardened unbeliever to the Lord.

God does NOT want us to try to win the lost using our own wisdom of words; but rather, with the plain Gospel of Jesus Christ. If they won't accept God's free gift of eternal life from just hearing the Gospel, then there is NOTHING we can say to make any difference...

"And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets [i.e., the Bible], neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead" (Luke 16:30,31).

All we can do to get people saved is to express God's unconditional love for them by sharing the Gospel truth with them, pray for them, never give-up on them; but also, NOT get into heated futile debates that go in circles and waste precious time.

So I say to you my dear reader, let's focus on the Gospel itself, and let the power of God take control.

The Heart of the Matter...

To him who believes, no explanation is necessary; to him that believes not, no explanation is possible.

The Simple Gospel, 1

by David J. Stewart

"Not With Wisdom of Words"

(The Gospel doesn't need our help)

"For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect." —1st Corinthians 1:17.

I recently received an e-mail from a man inquiring how to witness to a Roman Catholic. He said he had a friend who was really having a hard time with the matter of "works" not being necessary for salvation. I shared with him the Bible's teaching on salvation, stressing that salvation is "by grace through faith" and NOT of works (Ephesians 2:8,9; Titus 3:5). I also shared with him Galatians 2:16...

"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." -Galatians 2:16

He e-mailed back again, saying that "his friend" needed "proof" of exactly where the Catholic religion teaches that "works" are mandatory for salvation. I responded by referring him to the Vatican II documents of the Roman Catholic church, in which the Vatican requires baptism into the "Catholic" church, holy communion, and the keeping of the seven sacraments to go to heaven.

The man responded by saying that the Lutheran religion also requires Baptism and Holy Communion to be saved, and then he accused me of failing to expose them as I had the Catholics. I responded by assuring him that I DO expose the Lutheran religion and sent him the link to my false religions page.

The man e-mailed me again, claiming that his friend absolutely would NOT accept my innuendos and needed "proof" that the Bible didn't require works to be saved. He quoted me several verses such as Luke 13:9..."And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down."

He tried to defend the heresy that "works" are necessary to salvation with such Scriptures. The Bible does NOT contradict itself, hundreds of Biblical references teach us that good "works" are a sure road to hell (Isaiah 64:6).

After e-mailing back and forth several times, the gentleman became belligerent and it was apparent to me that he was more argumentative than hungry for the truth. At this point I realized that he probably didn't have a friend and was just wanting to defend his false religion. I remembered his first e-mail which he had sent to me, asking for help witnessing to his Catholic friend. Then the Holy Spirit reminded me of the following Scripture...

"For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect." -1st Corinthians 1:17.

Whether the man was sincere or not didn't matter to me at this point... either I was trying to use the WISDOM OF WORDS to convince an unbeliever, or the man was sincerely trying to use the WISDOM OF WORDS to win his unbelieving friend to the Lord. Either way, it wasn't going to work. The Bible teaches that the GOSPEL (i.e., God's plan of salvation for mankind) is the power which saves a person; not our own eloquent words...

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." -Romans 1:16.

I kindly wrote the man back and explained 1st Corinthians 1:17 to him. I explained to him that the way you witness to a Catholic is the same way you witness to anyone... with the GOSPEL (1st Corinthians 15:1-4). We are ALL sinners deserving of hell-fire.

Jesus Christ (the Son of God) paid for our sins with His blood; Jesus DIED; Jesus was BURIED and Jesus ROSE from the dead for our justification. All we need to do for salvation is to trust upon Jesus Christ by faith to forgive our sins (Romans 3:10,23;5:8;6:23;10:9-13). Acts 10:43 states, "To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins."

What Is Proof

by David J. Stewart

I get all sorts of letters from people wanting "proof" that the Bible is God's Word. What is "proof." Is it not relevant? Proof is based upon evidence. The evidence that I might consider as "proof" of something may not be enough evidence for you. You can present the same evidence to 10 different people and they may not all except it as proof.

Hence, some people believed that the earth was round hundreds of years ago simply because Isaiah 40:22 said that it was (or because they saw that the moon was round). Yet, there were also plenty of skeptics back then who adamantly proclaimed that they'd go to their graves believing that the earth was flat.

Everyone who believed the earth was flat was wrong, but they were sincerely wrong. Likewise, many people today are sincerely wrong about the Word of God. To me, the Word of God itself is proof enough that It is the eternal, inspired, infallible, incorruptible, preserved Word of God. If it is not enough proof for you, then your fate is in your own hands.

I receive so many letters from people who want to argue over foolishness. They don't really want to find the Truth of God's Word. Arguing, like gossip, is a cheap form of entertainment for some people. The Apostle Paul in this Scriptures we just read advises us to "reject" belligerent people who just want to argue foolishness.

By "Reject" Paul simply means that we shouldn't waste our time trying to convince someone who already has formed a biased opinion. I receive many wonderful letters from people who need my help, and I always do my best to help them. It's not that we should give up on anyone, but there are so many people who haven't heard the gospel that need our help.

Let us be productive for God and not allow Satan's critics to preoccupy our precious time which can be spent helping those who want to be helped. Romans 10:15 reads, "...How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"

Notice that the Bible doesn't say it is beautiful to argue with people. What is beautiful is the good news of Jesus Christ. I have written an article concerning this which I hope you will read titled, The Simple Gospel.

We must all read the Bible for our self and then personally decide whether or not we believe It is God's Word. There is NO magic bullet. Either you believe the Bible is God's Word or you don't! I believe 100%!

Is the Bible God's Word? 3

by David J. Stewart

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" -2nd Timothy 3:16.

Evidence That the Bible is God's Word:

  • The Holy Spirit in my heart.

Romans 8:9 reads, "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." And Romans 8:16, "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God."

What a wonderful Truth, God's Holy Spirit lives within the body of every believer. I know that the Bible is God's Word because the Holy Spirit within my body tells me so. It's not something I can describe. All I can say is that when I read the Word of God, it all makes perfect sense to me. I thank God for His Precious Word!

  • All of the modern corrupt Bibles.

The fact that Satan is trying to eradicate the Truth by corrupting It's contents speaks volumes. The fact that every modern Bible diminishes the deity of Christ, the blood atonement, the Godhead, and many other doctrines as compared to the King James Bible is evidence that the Bible is indeed God's Word.

Sadly, even many believers have bought into the Devil's lie of swapping their trustworthy King James Bible for a perversion like the New International Version which completely removes the words "Godhead," "sodomites," and even "begotten" in John 3:16. It is so obvious that Satan is relentlessly attacking God's Word.

  • Man wouldn't have written the Bible.

Man couldn't have written the Bible if he wanted to, and wouldn't if he could have. Why would men write a book condemning themselves? Not one book throughout history even comes near to the Bible's description of mankind. Jeremiah 17:9 reads, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" What man could write such a thing?

  • The lie of evolution.

The fact that evolution is taught as if it were a fact all across the world is evidence of man's unwillingness to learn the Truth. Evolution has no scientific basis, it cannot be tested or studied. Evolution is NOT science, but a mere theory of atheist conjectures.

If the Bible is not true, then why is mankind desperately trying to hide his ignorance concerning creation. There is NO answer which makes sense except God. Please read Is There a God?. Evolution is proof of one thing, that man is afraid of the Truth.
  • Fulfilled Bible Prophecy.
The Word of God is filled with much prophecy. Here is a page of many Fulfilled Bible Prophecies. It would be astronomically impossible for any one man to have fulfilled all of the prophecies which Christ fulfilled.

Is the Bible God's Word? 2

by David J. Stewart

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" -2nd Timothy 3:16.

Evidence That the Bible is God's Word:

  • The world's hatred for the Word of God.

John 3:20 reads, "For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved." This is why the unsaved world hates Jesus Christ and His Word so intensely, because They expose sin!

NO book on this planet is hated anywhere near as much as the Bible. Most people hate the Truth. Speaking the Truth is a fast way to make enemies, "Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?." The world hated Jesus without a cause because He spoke the Truth (John 15:25).

  • The world's hatred for Christians.

Jesus said, "I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world" -John 17:14. I've been despised and hated my whole life because of my Christian testimony. I know what it's like to be ostracized by others, to be lied about, to be called a hypocrite, to be laughed at and ridiculed, to be the black sheep of the family.

But I know God will make everything right in Heaven. Jesus told us that we'd be hated. It's really Jesus and the Bible that they hate, not us. I'm not going to feel bad about something that God said would happen. I don't like to be hated, but I love the Truth and want to please God by proclaiming It far and wide.

  • The attack from false religions.

The book of Koran is a jumbled mess containing no prophecy at all. The Koran attacks Christians, Jews, and the doctrines of the Bible. The Jehovah Witnesses (JW's) claim that Michael the archangel became Jesus. They deny Christ's deity. The Mormons deny Christ's deity.

The Catholics pervert the Bible by teaching the necessity of the sacraments for salvation, etc. Wiccan witches reject the Word of God as fables. New Agers teach that there are millions of ways to God, just follow the light; but the Word of God proclaims that there is ONLY one way to Heaven and that's through Jesus Christ! Every false religion in one way or another twists and corrupts the Word of God. The attack is against the Word of God!!!

  • The woeful condition of the world.

The Bible clearly teaches that Satan is the god of this world (2nd Corinthians 4:4). John 10:10 plainly declares that the Devil only comes to kill, steal, and destroy. It's obvious that there are evil forces at work beyond human suffering and war. Most people believe in God and Satan, so why is it so hard to accept the idea that God would want to communicate with His creation (humanity)?

It doesn't surprise me that spoiled Americans would deny the existence of God and Satan, but ask anyone in a third world nation if they believe. Pride blinds man's eyes. 1st John 5:19 declares that the whole world lieth in wickedness.

  • The existence of Satanists and occult groups.

The fact that all these Satanic groups, like the Church of Satan are proof of Satan. Wicca witches deny the existence of Satan, but Biblically they are of Satan. Just because they deny the Devil doesn't mean he doesn't exist. Hitler was known to levitate above the floor. He was infatuated with the occult.

America is plagued with occult groups such as Bohemian Grove, Skull and Bones, Freemasonry, and many more. Freemasonry commonly displays an upside down pentagram representing the Devil. They worship the great architect, Baphomet (Satan).

Just look online at some of the witchcraft websites speaking about spells, charms, astral projection, astrology, etc. The Bible clearly forbids such activities (Deuteronomy 18:10; 1st Samuel 15:23; Isaiah 47:13, Ephesians 5:11).

Is the Bible God's Word? 1

by David J. Stewart

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" -2nd Timothy 3:16.

Evidence That the Bible is God's Word:
  • Because it claims to be (as read in our Scripture above).

  • Because it hits the nail right on the head concerning the sinfulness of mankind.

2nd Timothy 3:1-7 reads,: "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."

Mankind is evil through and through. The humanists say man can improve. The New Age gang says that we can become gods. Evolutionists claim we all came from apes (with NO proof whatsoever). The Mormons say we can become gods. Do you think the American Psychiatric Association is going to tell you that you're a sinner on your way to Hell if you die in your sins?

No! This is not just religion friend, this is YOUR LIFE!!! What Book is there on this earth that gives you the plain truth about mankind and life? THE WORD OF GOD is the only answer! The Bible plainly teaches that man is prone to destruction because man has a sin-nature (Romans 3:10,23;5:12;7:21).

  • Archaeology is in agreement with the Word of God.

Not one spadeful of dirt has ever been uncovered to disprove the Word of God. In fact, many Archaeological expeditions have provided substantial evidence in support of Biblical claims. We don't need Archeology to prove the Bible, the Bible is evidence enough by itself. Yet, here are more proofs if you need them. The Bible Itself is all the evidence I need.

  • The Bible is scientifically accurate.

Isaiah 40:22 declares that the earth is round. Leviticus 17:11 declares that the life is in the blood. For centuries doctors foolishly drained the blood out of their patients resulting in certain death.

The Bible also mentions astronomy, Job 9:9 mentions Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades. Proverb 17:22 teaches that good health is directly linked to being happy. Psychiatrists offices are overflowing today with the stressed out people. Happiness can only come from being saved and living for the Truth of God's Word.

  • The Bible was miraculously written.

The Bible was written over a 1,500 year period by 40 different men as God's Holy Spirit moved through them. There is NO earthly way possible that so many men (most of whom never met each other), could have written so many different books in different styles that all perfectly merge into one meaningful Book, but with God all things are possible!!!

God's Wisdom

"Who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will" (Ephesians 1:11).

Our belief in God's wisdom supposes and necessitates that He has a settled purpose and plan in the work of salvation.

What would creation have been without His design? Is there a fish in the sea, or a fowl in the air, which was left to chance for its formation? Nay, in every bone, joint, and muscle, sinew, gland, and blood-vessel, you mark the presence of a God working everything according to the design of infinite wisdom.

And shall God be present in creation, ruling over all, and not in grace? Shall the new creation have the fickle genius of free will to preside over it when divine counsel rules the old creation? Look at Providence! Who knoweth not that not a sparrow falleth to the ground without your Father? Even the hairs of your head are all numbered.

God weighs the mountains of our grief in scales, and the hills of our tribulation in balances. And shall there be a God in providence and not in grace? Shall the shell be ordained by wisdom and the kernel be left to blind chance. No; He knows the end from the beginning.

He sees in its appointed place, not merely the corner-stone which He has laid in fair colours, in the blood of His dear Son, but He beholds in their ordained position each of the chosen stones taken out of the quarry of nature, and polished by His grace; He sees the whole from corner to cornice, from base to roof, from foundation to pinnacle.

He hath in His mind a clear knowledge of every stone which shall be laid in its prepared space, and how vast the edifice shall be, and when the top-stone shall be brought forth with shoutings of "Grace! Grace! unto it."

At the last it shall be clearly seen that in every chosen vessel of mercy, Jehovah did as He willed with His own; and that in every part of the work of grace He accomplished His purpose, and glorified His own name.

Prayer - The Long and Short Of It

by David Wilkerson

"Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few" (Ecclesiastes 5:2).

There is often a pretense in long prayers. A desire to build up "credit power" with God; an ambition to duplicate the prayer lives of men used of God; a subtle attempt to overwhelm the Lord with enough words to weary him into action.

I wonder - does God ever get bored? Does he long for more prayers and petitions framed with brevity and intelligence? Some of us go to the secret closet and just "run off at the mouth."

We become rash, wordy, and parrot cliches, meaningless petitions and praise patterns. God deserves an intelligent, concise presentation of our needs, a clear-minded offering of sincere praise, and a dignity based on our respect for the King of all kings.

Be specific with God in prayer and he will be specific with you in regard to the answer. Nonchalance and levity have no place in his courts.

Jesus said, "Tarry ye here, and watch with me" (Matthew 26:38).

The true purpose of prayer is that we enjoy much personal communion with the Lord. The heart is reluctant to dwell in God's presence and satisfies itself with "devotions." This describes a hurried period late at night or early in the morning when a "quickie" prayer is offered and a hurried portion of Scripture is partly absorbed.

All the witnessing in the world cannot excuse a man from his duty and privilege of prayer in the secret closet. Locked in with God until the carnal soul is transformed! No man should pray without plowing and no man should plow without praying.

Every gift from God will cost you a groan. True men and women of God feel too weak to face the enemy without daily, consistent prayer.

UPDATE: Why I Deleted a Years Worth of Posts

Simple. I was unknowingly using the errant New Living Translation (NLT) of the Bible. If you would like to learn more go here.

UPDATE: 8/1/09

My goal in starting this site was pretty simple: To spread the Gospel, the Good News of the Kingdom, through the Word of God. To this day, I would not recommend using the New Living Translation.

HOWEVER, God, in His infinite wisdom can use anything he chooses to save the lost and to edify His children. The most important advice I can give concerning which Bible translation to use is be led by the Spirit of God and you can't go wrong.

Reason being, a brother or sister in Christ who uses a Bible translation I wouldn't personally use should not cause division between us. God forbid, if I should make another Christian stumble because of my overzealous stance on this issue.

"I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all" (Ephesians 4:1-6).

There are too many more important issues to be concerned about, such as how many people will die today without Christ's repentance. They will face an eternity in Hell. Their souls are too important for me to waste precious time about which Bible translation to use.

I consider this matter irrelevant to the big scheme of things. All of the articles that reference this subject have been replaced by more edifying material (some articles and several videos).

Maranatha!
